Sheriff’s deputy receives elder justice good neighbor award: photo story

Berrien County Sheriff’s Deputy Kelly Laesch (center) recently received the 2017 Elder Justice Good Neighbor Award in Mount Pleasant. Laesch was nomited by the Berrien and Cass county departments of Health and Human Services for going above and beyond her job requirements. She often assists Adult Protective Services on cases and will drop everything else in front of her to do so, according to officials at the sheriff’s department.  She continues to be in charge of the Project Lifesaver Program within the community and acts as the law enforcement liaison for the local TRIAD group in addition to her other job responsibilities.
