A Niles man is dead after being run over by a semi-tractor at Paragon Tempered Glass in Niles.

Emergency personnel were called to the business at around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday after the Niles Police Department received a 911 call that a subject had been run over by a semi-truck at 1830 Terminal Road, in Niles’ industrial park, according to a statement from the police department.

Police say it appears that Dennis Kobb, 64, fell from the cab of a semi-tractor while moving an empty trailer from the loading dock at the business. After falling from the semi-tractor, Kobb was caught under the rear wheels of the vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.

The Niles City fire department, Michigan State Police motor carrier, Berrien County Sheriff’s Department and SMCAS Ambulance assisted at the scene.
