SMCAS records audit approved: During a business review, the trustees discussed joining SMCAS as an owner. The trustees voted to approve Kruggel & Lawton to complete an audit of SMCAS records and suggest a buy-in amount at a cost not to exceed $2,500. Yes: Unanimous.

Niles City (June 12)

Four Flags Area Chamber of Commerce request to use a portion of the airport for the firework show: Members of the Niles City council approved the request to allow the Four Flags Area Chamber of Commerce to use a portion of the Jerry Tyler Memorial Airport property to conduct the annual Fourth of July fireworks show on Monday, July 3. Also approved was a donation of $2,500 to support the event. The donation will be held until the grounds at the airport are cleaned after the firework show. Yes: Unanimous.

Niles Burn Run event approval: Members of the Niles City Council voted to approve a request from the Niles Burn Run Committee to hold the annual Niles Burn Run Festival from July 21 to July 23 in Riverfront Park. Yes: Unanimous.
