District champions Lakeshore and Edwardsburg combined for 11 spots on the Division 2 All-District baseball team, which was selected earlier this week and released Thursday.
The Lancers, who will face Vicksburg in the 10 a.m. game of the Edwardsburg regional Saturday, led the way with six selections, while the Eddies, who will take on Battle Creek Harper Creek in the second semifinal at approximately 12:30 p.m., had five players named to the squad.
Edwardsburg selections were Devin Pulling (catcher), Chris Griffin (infield), Caden Goggins (outfield), Joe Raab (pitcher) and Zach Priebe (pitcher).
Niles had four players selected by the district coaches.
They were Jakob Huffman (first base), Austin Curran (infield), Bryce Lake (outfield) and Drew Huffman (outfield).
Dowagiac’s Brenden Dudley was named to the team as a pitcher.
Pulling hit .394 with eight doubles and 21 RBIs.
Griffin hit .420 with 10 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 48 RBIs, while Googins hit .364 with four doubles, one triple and 23 RBIs.
“Chris had a phenomenal year at the plate and in the field,” said Edwardsburg coach A.J. Gaideski said. “He broke our modern day home run record with the “BBCORE” bats with seven. He also had 48 RBIs, which is also a
“BBCORE” record for us.  He is a good athlete that works very hard and excels at everything he does.
“Devin also had a terrific year catching almost every game. He hit great .394 and played exceptional defense. I believe his arm behind the plate sets him apart from everybody else in the area. He has had huge two-out hits for RBIs this year.
“Goggins is our sophomore center fielder. He has done a tremendous job both at the plate and in the field. Caden is lightning quick with 22 stolen bases on the year. He runs down everything in the outfield and has a very accurate arm.”
Raab was 7-0 on the mound with an ERA of 1.13. He struck out 81 in 49.3 innings.
Priebe was 6-0 with a save and an ERA of .604. He struck out 44 in 46.3 innings of work.
“Both pitchers have had great years,” Gaideski said. “Both throw strikes and change speeds. The best thing about both of these pitchers is that they are even better people. Great in the classroom as well as excellent role models. Joe has been picked to pitch in the East-West All-Star Game which was played Tuesday at Comerica Park.”
Jakob Huffman hit .340 with four doubles and 13 RBIs, while Drew Huffman hit .404 with four doubles, two triples, a home run and 22 RBIs.
Curran hit .333 with eight doubles, two home runs and 20 RBIs, while Lake hit .333 with four doubles, three triples and 16 RBIs.
On the mound, Dudley was 3-6 with an ERA of 2.98. He struck out 46 in 47 innings of work.
Niles’ Curran, Jakob Huffman, Jared Hainey and Tayton Stevens earned Division 2 Academic All-District.
