A Cassopolis man was hospitalized following a motorcycle accident at M-62 near Davis Lake Street, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a 911 report of the crash at 11:43 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The operator of the motorcycle Rany Bice, 59, of Cassopolis, was heading south on M-62 when he was struck by a deer. Bice, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was transported by Med Flight to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

The Cass County Sherrif’s Office has determined that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
