Delta Kappa Gamma awards grants to local teachers for classroom projects

Pi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International recently awarded classroom grants to area teachers.

Recipients of the grants attended a brunch to share their projects with chapter members.

Jan Gerstler, president of Pi Chapter, announced the award recipients and their projects: Mary Ward, of Buchanan, “Kore Wobble Chairs;” Laura Proctor and Rhonda Belcher, of Niles, “2nd Graders Fables and Folk Tales;” Lauren Sheeley, of Niles, “1st Grade Informational Text Projects;” Lynn Listenberger and Wendy Skinner, of Brandywine, “Ozobots – a Computer Science Program;” Amy Green, of Niles “After School Math Project;” Brenda Hess, of Buchanan, “Books for her At-Risk Reading Program;” and Diane Ross (Buchanan) “Wobble Chairs.”

Delta Kappa Gamma International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. By awarding grants to these nine teachers, 317 students were impacted. Grants will be offered again for 2017-2018 school year.
