Local project leaders to assist with charity project

Published 9:43 am Thursday, June 8, 2017

The Operation Christmas Child area team will host Project Leader Workshops throughout northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan for current leaders and those interested in becoming one.

The goal of the project leader is to make it easy for a church or group to participate in the Samaritan’s Purse project, “Operation Christmas Child.”

As a project leader, those involved can help a church or organization participate  in the world’s largest children’s ministry.

In other words, project leaders assist members who pack gift-filled shoeboxes that are then delivered to needy children in over 150 countries bringing joy, hope and the gospel to them.

Workshop locations are:

• 4 p.m. Sunday, June 25 at the Niles Adventist School 110 N. Fairview St., in Niles

• 9 a.m. Saturday, July 8 at the Clinton Frame Church, 63846 CR 35, Goshen, Indiana

• 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9 at Free Church, 61770 Miami Road, South Bend, Indiana

At these workshops, project leaders  will be trained and equiped with the latest OCC resources, facts and ideas so that your efforts can reach farther than ever before.

Since Operation Christmas Child began in 1993, over 146 million shoebox gifts (gospel opportunities) have been collected and delivered.
