Rangers sweep White Pigeon

Host Cassopolis swept White Pigeon in a BCS Athletic Conference softball twinbill Tuesday.

The Rangers (8-14) won the opening game 9-1 and then completed the sweep with a 9-4 win in the nightcap.

Nikki Keefe picked up the victory in the first game as she tossed a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks.

Maile Barber was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Kaitlyn Hartsell drove in a pair of runs, while Kayla Rowan also drove in a run.

In the second game, Olivia Purlee earned the victory as she scattered nine hits and struck out three without walking a batter.

Offensively for Cassopolis, Barber was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Keefe was 2-for-4 with five RBIs.

Kaitlyn and Kiersten Hartsell both tripled for the Rangers, who also got two hits from Purlee and Sabrina Bukowski.
