The Edwardsburg Lions Club is gearing up for the Memorial Day Parade on Monday.

This year, the float will be adorned with a giant life-size model lion that was purchased in Chicago. The model will be set at the Edwardsburg Sports Complex in front of the Lion Pavilion this spring.

Lions International is celebrating 100 years, 1917-2017, and the Edwardsburg Lions Club decided to take on the pavilion project for the Centennial year.

The Edwardsburg Lions decided to show off the lion to the Edwardsburg Community before it is actually set in its home at the ESC.

The annual Edwardsburg Memorial Day Festival presented by the Edwardsburg Area Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 11 p.m. with a parade down US-12 with a brief stop in front of the Edwardsburg Area History Museum for a flag ceremony.

The parade will then proceed to the cemetery to place memorial flags.

The festival in Gunn Park will begin immediately following the parade and continue until 2 p.m.
