The Niles softball team is on a roll.

Heading into Monday night’s SMAC West Division doubleheader with Lakeshore, the Vikings had won four straight games.

Niles swept a SMAC non-divisional doubleheader from host Battle Creek Lakeview last Thursday and defeated Saline at the Bronson tournament Saturday.

The championship game of that tournament was rained out.

Against Lakeview, Niles won 14-3 and 14-3 in a pair of five-inning contests.

Brooke Timm won both games and had a pair of doubles.

Niles also got doubles from Taylor Altergott and Caitlin Daly, while Sadie Fountain, Daly and Aynslee Myer all tripled for the Vikings.

Against Saline, Timm was again the winning pitcher.

Reese Davies homered for Niles and Addison Davies doubled.

Buchanan lost 2-1 in the opening game and 13-0 in the five-inning nightcap.

Erica Donathen had a double in the first game for the Bucks, who drop to 18-8 on the year.
