Dowagiac sweeps Allegan

Visiting Allegan was limited to eight runs as Dowagiac swept a Wolverine Conference baseball doubleheader from the Tigers at Rotary Park Friday.

Dowagiac used a seven-run second inning to win the opening game 16-6.

In the nightcap, A five-run first helped the Chieftains to an 11-0 victory.

Both games was shortened by the 10-run rule.

Dowagiac banged out 16 hits in the first game, led by Mack Charles who was 4-for-5 with three RBIs.

Duan Simpson was 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Kade Schriber, Collin Hassle, Cody Dorman and Zech Huston all had two hits. Hassle and Austin Jones drove in four runs for the Chieftains. Dorman had a pair of RBIs.

Ellijah Williams picked up the win in relief of starter Brandon Felthouse.

Williams worked four and a third innings, allowing no earned runs on one hit with six strikeouts.

Jones pitched the sixth inning for Dowagiac.

The Chieftains had nine more hits in the second game, led by Williams, Schriber and Adrien Bucha-Moore with two apiece.

Bucha-Moore went the distance, tossing a two-hitter with three strikeouts and no walks.

Dowagiac was back in action Monday night as it hosted Vicksburg in a Wolverine Conference doubleheader played at Eck Stadium on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.
