With the help of students from Edwardsburg High School, Ontwa Township trash days were a success.

With cars, trucks and trailers lined up along US-12, township residents and students turned this year’s event into the largest yet, according to Ontwa Township Supervisor Jerry Marchetti.

“It is an event that is really appreciated by the township residents,” Marchetti said. “We also had several township officials help over the two-day event.”

Without the aid of jail trustees, the township was appreciative of the help given by the high school students.

According to Edwardsburg High School teacher Jeff Kozinski, the students enjoy helping out as a way to give back to their community.

“The students getting involved with the cleanup day was a way to show citizenship,” he said. “Giving back to the community is a great way to show pride, passion and purpose in a genuine manner.”

Trash days were April 28 and 29.
