Sheriff’s youth camp slated for June 15-16

All local fourth and fifth graders are invited to attend the 10th annual Berrien County Sheriff’s Kids Camp this summer from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 15 to June 16 at the Berrien County Fair Grounds, 9122 U.S. 31 Hwy., Berrien Springs.

Proceeds will benefit Berrien County Law Enforcement Explorer Post 602. This camp will be an action packed two-day event that will provide children with safety tips and presentations with hands on demonstrations by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department and other local law enforcement agencies, fire and EMT professionals.

Junior deputies and participants will get hands on experience in: law enforcement, fire services, emergency medical service and water rescue.  They will participate in team building and problem solving activities and learn personal and home safety tips. Participants will also get an opportunity to interact with police officers, firefighters and EMTs.

The cost for the Sheriff’s Kid’s Camp is $30.00 (Make checks payable to “Explorer Post 602”). The cost covers lunch, snacks, goodie bag and Sheriff Kids Camp T-shirt. Berrien Sheriff’s Kids Camp is open to the first forty fourth and fifth grade girls and boys who register. 

The registration deadline is June 1. Shirt orders will be placed June 1. Spots are limited.
