On Monday, May 8, Sen. John Proos visited ninth grade learners at Niles New Tech Entrepreneurial Academy.

Students in American studies are currently engaged in a project called Beacons of Virtue, where they are studying “To Kill a Mockingbird” along with the Civil Rights Movement.

Students sought to answer the following driving question: “How can we as Niles New Tech learners establish ourselves a beacons of virtue in an unjust world starting in the Niles community?”

Proos addressed the learners over a variety of topics, including how to engage audiences in topics that they are passionate about. This feedback was aimed to help inspire students on their projects.
