Visiting Berrien Springs was no match for Buchanan in BCS Athletic Conference Red Division softball Tuesday.

The Bucks swept the Shamrocks 14-1 and 10-0. The first game lasted six innings and the nightcap just five.

Sammi Luzadre tossed a no-hitter in the first game for the Bucks.

Buchanan pounded Berrien Springs pitching for 15 hits, including a pair of doubles by Luzadre and Erika Donathen. Megan Adkerson had three doubles, while Alyssa Florey tripled and homered.

Jayla Bibbs also had a home run for the Bucks, who are now 13-6 overall and 8-0 in the Red Division.

In the nightcap, Donathen tossed a three-hitter.

Luzadre homered and Taylor Reed doubled as Buchanan finished with nine hits.

Niles at Portage Central

PORTAGE — Visiting Niles had a couple of bad innings and Portage Central took advantage of them Tuesday in a SMAC West Division doubleheader.

The Vikings gave up a six-run third inning in their 9-1 loss in the opening game, and then gave up five and four runs in the first two innings of the nightcap that they lost 11-1.

The second game lasted just five innings.

Brooke Timm and Reese Davies were the losing pitchers against the Mustangs.

Niles had four hits in the opening game, including a double by Taylor Altergott.

In the nightcap, the Vikings had six hits.

Sadie Fountain was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Brandywine at Parchment

PARCHMENT — Visiting Brandywine dropped a pair of BCS Athletic Conference softball games to Parchment Tuesday.

The Bobcats lost 8-7 in the opening game, which lasted eight innings.

An error allowed the winning run to score for the Panthers.

In the nightcap, Brandywine was defeated 5-1.
