Niles, Dowagiac, Cassopolis and Brandywine were all on the losing end of conference soccer matches Wednesday.

The Vikings were blanked by arch rival Lakeshore 8-0 in SMAC West Division action, the Chieftains were blanked by host Allegan 6-0 in Wolverine Conference play, while the Rangers and Bobcats fell to Michigan Lutheran and Lake Michigan Catholic in BCS Athletic Conference action.

 

Niles soccer

The Niles soccer team has now been shut out in its last seven matches.

Visiting Lakeshore became the seventh straight team to hold the Vikings scoreless as it defeated Niles 8-0 in SMAC West Division soccer action Wednesday.

The Lancers grabbed a 3-0 halftime lead and then scored five times in the second half to end the match via the mercy rule.

Natalie Stampfly had three goals for Lakeshore, which also got goals from Sarah Dubbert, Cassie Pallet, Johnna Hafling, Grace Glowacki and Marissa Faust.

Kailey Yack had a pair of assists for the Lancers.

Lakeshore outshot Niles 23-2 in the match. Avy James stopped 15 shots for the Vikings.

 

Dowagiac soccer

Dowagiac’s Grace Younger stopped 37 of the Tigers’ 47 shots on goal.

 

Cassopolis soccer

Michigan Lutheran’s Kira Diaz-Martin scored four goals and Emily Witkowski three as the Titans blanked the Rangers 8-0.

Madison Suseland stopped 10 of Michigan Lutheran’s 17 shots on goal.

 

Brandywine soccer

Ann Marier Nuter scored the lone goal of the night for Lake Michigan Catholic in the 1-0 win over the Bobcats.

Brandywine and the Lakers both had six shots on goal.
