Searra Inman is a sophomore on the Brandywine track team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
SI: Making the women’s wrestling team for Michigan.
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
SI: Not pushing myself as hard during cross country.
What has been a hardship in your life?
SI: Staying focused in class.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
SI: My parents. They are always keeping positive thoughts in my head.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
SI: Just before I got out on the mat.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
SI: When I lose a match and get mentally unstable.
How do you tend to work out/train when by yourself?
SI: I push myself to do extra so going a normal time is easier.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
SI: I would like to compete in track.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
SI: They give me an idea of what it is like to work together as a team.
How would you give away $50,000?
SI: I would give it away to help out school sports.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
SI: I would choose to coach the cross country team.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
SI: Be focused on a job and doing more chores at home.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
SI: To stay mentally stable.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
SI: I would get rid of no locked hands on the bottom.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
SI: “You have done a phenomenal job pushing through that match and I am a proud coach.”
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
SI: Wrestle someone who was far more advanced than me. Yes.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
SI: Riding horses. I have always loved horses.
