A Niles woman has been selected for the National Queen Pageant, hosted by Pure International Pageants from June 14 to June 17.

Kayla Flenar, 23, of Niles, won the Pure International Pageants Miss Michigan 2017 along with the titles of Michigan’s cover model, most photogenic, portfolio, and overall optional winner. This is Flenar’s ninth win in pageant competitions.

Flenar recently participated in the Girl Scout’s Tea with the Queens, The Berrien County Civitan Club Easter Egg Hunt and has read to elementary school children. Flenar said she looks forward to continuing to serve her community and the state of Michigan.

In order to raise funds for fees and travel expenses for herself and her chaperone so she may compete, Flenar is hosting a vendor sale from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 6 at the Niles FOP, 531 N. State St. Niles.
