Keegan Neumann is a senior on the Niles baseball team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
KN: Leading off the game in our quarterfinal match.
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
KN: Losing in the district final twice in soccer.
What has been a hardship in your life?
KN: Having to play baseball at Harris in Indiana when no Niles coach believed in me and then proving them wrong and making varsity.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
KN: My mother for her positivity and belief in me.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
KN: Tripping over myself in basketball warmups.
How do you tend to work out/train when by yourself?
KN: I put headphones in and zone everything out.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
KN: Lacrosse.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
KN: It adds to the high school experience.
How would you give away $50,000?
KN: Buy my mom and dad anything they want.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
KN: the Chicago Cubs. It is a great culture.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
KN: Make music.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
KN: Making a throw to the plate.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
KN: We need be able to truck the catcher.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
KN: Jenny Nate told me I am going to go far in life.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
KN: Hitting big jumps while snowboarding. The rush was great.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
KN: Austin (Curran) hitting his first bomb (home run) at Dowagiac.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
KN: Listening to all types of music.
