Buchanan opens season with sweep of Coloma

Host Buchanan allowed just one run in each of its first two games of the season as the Bucks swept Coloma 8-1 and 3-1 in non-conference baseball Tuesday.

Buchanan (2-0) used a three-run first inning to jump out to the quick lead. The Bucks also scored three runs in the sixth inning.

Kyle Leazenby worked the first six innings to pick up the victory as he allowed four hits with five strikeouts. Bradley VanOverberghe pitched the seventh.

Brandon Rogers was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Chad Adkerson doubled and frove in four runs.

In the nightcap, Dalton Riddle worked six innings, allowing four hits with seven strikeouts. Jacob Hoover pitched the seventh to pick up the save.

Adkerson and Tanner Lilly each had a hit for the Bucks in the second game.
