Saturday’s sunny and mild weather attracted hundreds of local children to downtown for the 17th annual Easter Eggstravaganza, which was hosted by the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce and organized by Honor Credit Union. Children and families assembled around Beckwith Park that morning, playing several games, including a cakewalk.

The children also could have their photos taken with the Easter Bunny and Miss Dowagiac Madison Phelps and her court of honor, as well as participate in the annual Be a Bunny costume contest.

The main event of the afternoon was the massive egg hunt, with the children taking less than two minutes to gather the 5,000 candy-filled trinkets lining the lawns of the park.
