Athlete Showcase: Niles’ Aynslee Myer

Aynslee Myer is a sophomore on the Niles softball team.

 

What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?

AM: Making top 10 in a golf tournament.

 

What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?

AM: Losing districts by one point.

 

What has been a hardship in your life?

AM: Losing my aunt.

 

Who is a “hero” in your life and why?

AM: My parents and sisters, because they are always there for me.

 

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

AM: Right before we start.

 

Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.

AM: Running into the fence in softball chasing after a pop fly.

 

How do you tend to work out/train when by yourself?

AM: I do Insanity and go on bike rides.

 

What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?

AM: Lacrosse if we had a team.

 

Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?

AM: So you get experience and make new families.

 

How would you give away $50,000?

AM: I would donate it to the athlete program and the school.

 

If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?

AM: Softball or any sport.

 

If I did not play sports, I would…?

AM: I do not know what I would do.

 

What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?

AM: Running a lot.

 

If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?

AM: We should get six fouls.

 

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

AM: My daughter wants to be like you.”

 

What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?

AM: Climbing up the side of a mountain and almost falling off.

 

What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?

AM: My sister Jaycee’s dancing skills.

 

What is your favorite hobby? Why?

AM: To hang out with friends or snowboard, because it is fun and that is usually when I have down time.
