Dowagiac man charged for possession of methamphetamine

A Dowagiac man is in custody on methamphetamine-related charges following a drug bust at his residence last week, according to a release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomas Williams, 45, was charged with delivering/manufacturing of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, tampering with evidence, maintaining a drug house and possession of marijuana during his arraignment Friday in Cass County court. His bond was set at $20,000.

According to police, Williams was arrested Thursday after officers with the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team executed a search warrant on his residence on O’Keefe Road in Wayne Township. Detectives found Williams in possession of methamphetamine, as well as evidence that the drug was being sold in the home. Other drug paraphernalia was uncovered by police as well.

Police interviewed two other people during their search. Authorities released the two at the scene.
