CCDP Headquarters a Helping Hands food pantry collection site
CASSOPOLIS — The Cass County Democratic Party headquarters located at 804 E, State St., Cassopolis (near Family Dollar) is now a collection site for Helping Hands food pantry.
Drop off non-perishable food Monday through Friday 1 to 4 p.m. Food items must not be expired or damaged in any way.
CCDP joins many other groups and individuals in Cass County supporting the important work of Helping Hands.

Democrats hosting livestream viewing March 11
CASSOPOLIS — Livestream viewing of the American Civil Liberties Union’s launch of People Power will take place Saturday, March 11, at the Cass County Democratic Party headquarters, 804 E. State St., Cassopolis.
The event starts at 4:30 p.m. with a meet and greet followed at 5 p.m. by the national broadcast outlining the next steps for organizing and resisting President Trump’s attacks on our basic freedoms.
The site, PeoplePower.org will use digital tools to communicate with and help train volunteers to resist President Trump’s unlawful policies across the country.
The ACLU will promote ideas for action to defend sanctuary cities, resist deportation raids, oppose the Muslim Ban, maintain Planned Parenthood funding, and support other priorities.
But the program will also seek to amplify organic, bottom-up grassroots actions. PeoplePower.org will be a one-stop hub for everyone looking to influence the national debate.

Road Commission to resurface part of Redfield Road
EDWARDSBURG �� The Cass County Road Commission has received Federal Aid monies for resurfacing Redfield Road between Brande Creek and Oak Street.
As part of the project, tree removal is necessary for safety reasons and will begin the week of March 13. Single lane closure and flag control will be in place, but expect slight delays.
Property owners may request the wood be left on their property by contacting the Cass County Road Commission at (269) 445-8611.
The Road Commission has also received a federal safety grant for installation of new guardrail in 2018 for the following locations:
• Dutch Settlement Street east of M-62
• Union Road north of Calvin Hill Street
• Yankee Street east of Wolfe Road
• Pokagon Highway east of the village of Pokagon
