After 13 years, Buchanan’s Lisa Holak has resigned as the Buchanan varsity volleyball coach.

Holak announced her resignation via an email.

“In my 13 seasons we won three districts and made three regional final appearances,” she said. “We won six conference championships, made a final four appearance and broke multiple school records including most season wins twice.”

Holak, a Lakeshore graduate, picked up her 500th career victory as Buchanan advanced to the Class B state semifinals before falling to No. 3-ranked North Branch.

She was also named a Lakeshore Legend, a top 25 all-time female athlete.

“It has been a crazy and rewarding journey,” Holak said. “Now that my sons are getting bigger it’s time to coach my own family.”
