The Niles City Council has scheduled a second Medical Marijuana Public Forum in response to community requests for additional opportunities to discuss the proposed changes to the city’s medical marijuana ordinance.
The forum will take place 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Niles Fire Station Complex, located at 1345 E. Main St.
The purpose of the forum is to give more people in the community a chance to provide additional input to the Niles City Council regarding the possibility of having various types of medical marijuana facilities operating in the city.
The emphasis will be placed on listening to concerns, ideas and other input from the community prior to the council’s consideration of an ordinance that would enact the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act in Niles.
The public forum is open to all, but again the city council is asking city residents and business owners who live and/or operate within the city limits to attend the meeting and provide their input as to the effect such as ordinance may have in our community and their thoughts about how the City of Niles should proceed in this matter.
