Recognizing a good deed

Last Friday afternoon (Feb. 17) I witnessed something in our county that almost brought tears to my eyes and definitely gave me faith in the future.

I was rushing to get to a bank in Edwardsburg about 4:30 p.m. on a beautiful spring-like day. I was passing the McDonald’s when I noticed a group of teens in short sleeves and no jackets rushing toward Michigan 62.

I wondered what kind of mischief these young people were up to, but just then I noticed a wheelchair tipped over and its occupant on the pavement.

These young adults were rushing to help. I made my return trip about 15 minutes later and there was no sign of the wheelchair or these young people.

But there are certainly some Edwardsburg youth that should be recognized and their parents should be proud.

There is goodness everywhere.
