ST. JOSEPH — The Lakeland Care Network Continuing Medical Education program recently became one of only 15 programs in Michigan to earn six-year accreditation with commendation from the Michigan State Medical Society.
MSMS accreditation seeks to assure the medical community and the public that Lakeland Care CME provides physicians with relevant, effective, practice-based continuing medical education that supports the U.S. health care quality improvement standards.
The MSMS employs a rigorous, multi-level process for evaluating institutions’ continuing medical education programs according to the high accreditation standards. Accreditation with Commendation is awarded to providers that demonstrate compliance in all criteria and the accreditation policies.
“The goal of the Lakeland Care CME program is to provide diverse, evidence based educational opportunities for physicians which enhance practice performance, promote patient safety, and improve patient outcomes within our community,” said Michelino Mancini, Lakeland Care CME director. “Being awarded accreditation with commendation reflects the tremendous dedication of this team towards quality improvement and safety and is an example of the quality educational opportunities offered to our physicians.”
