The Niles Elks Lodge will host Detroit comedian Dwayne Gill and opener Nate Armbruster for their annual Valentine’s Comedy Night on Saturday, Feb. 11.
The two comedians will present a 90-minute show to keep the audience laughing long after the evening ends, organizers said. The $20 ticket includes a gourmet appetizer buffet and dessert bar, and East Main Gardens has donated a rose for every lady in attendance.
U.S. Marine, cop and comic Dwayne Gill has shared the stage with well-known comedians like Jim Nortaon, Greg Giraldo, Kathleen Madigand and Last Comic Standing’s John Heffron, Alonzo Bodden and Rich Voz. His topics range from current events, male and female relationships to the crazy situations he has encountered as a police officer.
Audiences may have seen opener Nate Armbruster perform at the inaugural Laugh Fest in Grand Rapids, or at the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase. Nate is always a crowd pleaser, keeping his comedy clean.
“Our Valentine’s Comedy Night is tremendously popular,” said Julie Clark, trustee chairman at the Elks. “We consistently get compliments on the entertainment and the food. This is the ideal event for people looking to do something special but not go too far from home. And we have kept the price tag very reasonable for a fun evening out that will not break the bank. I am looking forward to another successful event.”
The Niles Elks Lodge is a fraternal organization committeed to assisting children and veterans in the community. The organization regularly supports athletic teams, Project Graduation, South Side Prom, veterans in the area, school education projects and holiday food baskets. Net proceeds from the event will contribute to the work the Lodge does in the area.
Doors open for Valentine’s Day Comedy Night at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11. The show will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the Elks Lodge for $20, and include the appetizer buffet and dessert table. Reservations are suggested. Reserve or purchase tickets at the lodge, 1322 Canal St., Niles, or call (269) 683-0133 from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday.
