The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department arrested two Niles residents Tuesday on alleged drug charges after serving a search in the 600 block of Woodruff.
After a month of compiling information about the manufacturing of meth at the home, the sheriff’s department narcotics unit, along with the sheriff’s department road patrol and Niles city police, executed the warrant at about 8 p.m., according to a press release.
Inside the home, officers found meth manufacturing items, hazardous materials, drug paraphernalia and less than a gram of meth, which required a hazmat clean up.
A man and a woman at the home were both arrested and sent to the Berrien County jail on preliminary charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, having a methamphetamine lab less than 500 feet from an occupied dwelling, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house. Additional people inside the home were questioned by police and released.
