Slow start dooms Chieftains against Plainwell

PLAINWELL — The visiting Dowagiac boys basketball team got off to another slow start, which resulted in a 61-49 Wolverine Conference non-divisional loss to Plainwell Tuesday night.

The Chieftains (0-2) trailed the Trojans (1-1) 19-2 after one quarter of play.

Dowagiac trailed 31-20 at halftime.

Luke Morrell led the Trojans with a game-high 22 points. Evan Finch finished with 17 points.

Dowagiac was led by Shaquan Stanback and J.J. Smith, both of whom scored 11 points.
