The Berrien County Health Department will provide an opportunity for community service providers to collaborate and get acquainted with available programs throughout the county at the 42nd biannual Community Services Roundtable.
This event, sponsored by Logan Community Resources — Autism Learning Center will take place Friday in the county conference room located at the Berrien County Health Department, at 2149 E. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the event ending at noon.
The sponsoring agency, the Logan Center, will offer a tour of their new facilities located at 1651 E. Nickerson Ave., Benton Harbor, following the conclusion of the roundtable.
“The roundtable provides a wonderful opportunity for organizations to share information and updates about the work they do,” said Kerri Teachout, substance abuse prevention supervisor at the Berrien County Health Department. “While Berrien County residents face a variety of challenges, there are numerous community programs and services available to move them beyond whatever hurdles they are facing. The roundtable is about bringing everyone together.”
The event offers local organizations and agencies four minutes each to give information and updates about their work in the community. The presentations are ongoing throughout the morning, with breaks for networking.
Literature on the programs will also be provided.
“We want members of our community to know where to go when they need assistance, but also for community service providers to be aware of the other existing services so they can refer people to other programs to best meet their needs,” Teachout said. “It takes a joint effort from all the service providers to truly fulfill community needs.”
