Niles senior Megan Kohler has signed a national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Trine University.

Kohler, who plays for Krush Volleyball, helped Niles to a school record of 48-6-4.

“I chose to commit to Trine University because when I toured campus, it felt right,” Kohler said. “I could picture myself walking around and attending classes there. Their education department blew me out of the water. My dad and I sat down with the dean of education while I was there, and he went over the path of education, placement percentages after college, and things of that sort. It was the best education program.

“Volleyball wise, I fell in love with their coach, coach (Jamie) Wozniak. Her mindset as a coach is exactly what I was looking for.”

Kohler will be majoring in elementary education or criminal justice.

She chose between Trine University, Adrian College and Bethel College.

Kohler and 82 kills and 64 blocks this season.
