Athlete Showcase: Dowagiac’s Ally Hale

Ally Hale is a junior on the Dowagiac golf team.

 

What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?

AH: Reducing the number of stokes and improving each year.

 

What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?

AH: Knowing what I did wrong and how I could have avoided the outcome.

 

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

AH: Teeing off on each hole.

 

Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.

AH: Hitting out of bounds twice in a row off a tee shot at a home match.

How do you tend to work out/train when by yourself?

AH:: I go to the YMCA.

 

Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?

AH: Sports helps you discover what you are good at and where you fit in. They also help you meet and become close with new people.

 

How would you give away $50,000?

AH: I would share with my family and give the rest to charity organizations.

If I did not play sports, I would…?

AH: Watch other sports, work more and volunteer.

 

What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?

AH: Overcoming my tendency to overthink.

 

If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?

AH: The playable lie rule.

 

What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?

AH: A Plainwell player that shot a 35.
