STEVENSVILLE — The Buchanan Bucks outlasted Lakeshore to win the Class B district championship 3-1 Thursday.

The Bucks advanced to the Coloma regional where they will face Battle Creek Harper Creek in the semifinals at 6 p.m. today.

Buchanan (46-6) defeated the Lancers 25-21, 16-26, 25-17 and 25-17 to win its third consecutive district championship.

Franki Strefling led the Bucks with 26 kills, six digs and a block, while Alex Tobler added 20 kills, five digs, a block and an ace.

Liz Kuntz finished the match with 10 digs, five blocks and two digs.

Britta Mollberg had 47 assists, 21 digs, three kills and two blocks. Taylor Strauss finished with 19 digs and four aces.

 

Class B at Vicksburg

The host Bulldogs put and end to the run of the Edwardsburg volleyball team Thursday night.

Vicksburg defeated the Eddies 25-16, 25-18 and 25-15 to win the Class B district championship.

The Bulldogs will face Wolverine Conference foe Plainwell in the second semifinal tonight at Coloma High School.

The match is scheduled to start at approximately 7:30 p.m.
