Six candidates will be running for four seats on the Cassopolis Village Council when voters head to the polls Tuesday.

Joining candidates Geraldine Norwood-Sims, Eugene Wagner and Frank Williams on the ballot will be write-in canddidates Carolyn G. Kelly, Kim Parsons and Felomina F. Patton.

Sims and Wagner are current council members whose terms are up for re-election.

Williams, the former Cassopolis Police Chief, was appointed to fill the remainder of the term of William Blount, who resigned earlier this year.

By law, Williams has to run for re-election. Blount’s term is official up in 2018.

Current pro-tem David Johnson, whose seat also expires this year, is running for village president against Jim Bronke.

Kelly, Parsons and Patton are all running as write-in candidates.

Their names will not appear on the ballot, which means that voters must write their names in on the appropriate line of the ballot.

The polls for the general election will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
