Nick Shelton, of Niles and Allison Hayes, of South Bend are tying the knot! They are planning a wedding for the summer of 2017.
Shelton and Hayes hit it off at a Notre Dame tailgate and have been inseparable ever since.
Nick loves Allison because she takes him to football games and Allison loves Nick because he brings her apples. It just works.
Allison brings to the mix her soon to be eight-year-old daughter, Emery Freeze, an avid colorer and all around awesome kid.
Allison is the daughter of Debbie and Rich Hayes. Her grandparents are Calvin Percy, the late Marge Percy and the late Hazel Rice.
Hayes is a graduate of Niles High School and University of Florida, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in science of telecommunication news and a master’s degree in science of commercial recreation. She is a sports anchor and reporter for Big Ten Network and WBND-ABC57.
Nick Shelton is the son of Mike and Kathleen Shelton. His grandparents are Jim Shelton, the late Betty Shelton and the late Ethan and Rose Shelton and the late William and Joan Straw.
Shelton is a graduate of Brandywine High School and Albion College, where he studied economics and management. He is a fruit peddler at Shelton’s Farm Market, Niles.
The happy trio can’t wait to celebrate with family and friends.
