Cass County man surrenders to police after striking two horseback riders

A man suspected of striking two women who were riding horses along the roadside Tuesday evening has been taken into police custody.
According to officials with the Michigan State Police, a 33-year-old man surrendered himself peacefully to officers around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning after taking refuge inside a residence at the 2800 block of M-60, located on the cusp of Howard and Jefferson townships in Cass County.
Police believe that the suspect struck two horseback riders around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday night. The victims suffered minor injuries as a result, and checked themselves into the hospital.
