No one is too young to give back to community, as demonstrated by the actions of several Dowagiac Middle School students Tuesday. Children with Lauren Leighton’s life skills class helped prepare bags of candy for Saturday’s Halloween parade, which takes place 10 a.m. downtown at Beckwith Park. The annual event will begin with a costume contest, with winners in each age group receiving cash prizes. Following the conclusion of the judging, children and parents will march through downtown. Members of the Dowagiac Optimist Club are once again sponsoring the Halloween event.
