Tom Wrasse plants a chestnut tree along McCoy’s creek trail on Monday. He donated 10 chestnut trees to be planted along McCoy’s Creek Trail. McCoy’s Creek Trail Board Member Jerry Flenar said that the trees were planted with the hope that the native chestnut tree will once again grow in the woods. Flenar said that the chestnut trees have been dying out since blight. Those who walk the trail can see the trees several feet from the walkway. They have been fenced off so that deer will not eat them.
