Police seeking Chemical Bank robber

Last Wednesday’s theft at the Chemical Bank in Niles Township is the focus on the Berrien County’s Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week, according to a release from the county sheriff’s department.
The department responded to a bank alarm at the business, located at 1835 S. 11th St. at around 12:58 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12. Deputies learned upon arrival that an unknown suspect presented a note to a bank teller demanding money, with the teller handing over an unspecified amount to the thief.
The suspect then fled from the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the theft.
