Miss/Mr. Edwardsburg Youth Scholarship Pageant Saturday

Published 1:42 pm Thursday, October 20, 2016

A New Miss and Mr. Edwardsburg will be crowned Saturday night.

The Miss/Mr. Edwardsburg Youth Scholarship Program presents “Broadway” at 4:30 p.m. in the Edwardsburg Performing Arts Center Saturday.

Doors open at 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 each.

The pageant is a community service program that strives to assist in individual social development and leadership qualities through mentoring. The program’s philosophy is that “everyone is a winner.”

“Each young person who participates will be enriched with new experiences, new friendships and awareness of their own potential,” Tammy Boyer, Miss/Mr. Edwardsburg Youth Scholarship Program.

said. “We encourage that the youth of Edwardsburg inquire to get involved in this great program. These youth learn a lot about giving back to our community and giving selflessly. They visit places like the Kroc Center Mentoring Day, local community service events and or course get to build and ride on a float in local parades and much more.”

The program, which is open to children ages 5 to 19, can sign up for the 2017 pageant next September.

The Miss and Mr. Edwardsburg contestants receive scholarships.
