Buchanan organization working to make a difference
Local volunteers will join forces and complete an array of projects for the fifth annual make a difference day from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 22, at the Buchanan First United Methodist Church, 132 S. Oak St.

Fernwood Botanical Garden celebrating ‘Howl-O-Ween’
Fernwood Botanical Gardens will host a Halloween celebration for people and pets alike from 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 22, at the garden located at 13988 Range Line Rd, Niles.
This is a rare occasion when dogs are allowed on the grounds.
There will also be local vendors and representatives from specialty organizations, and a costume contest, as well as guided hikes. Regular admission fees apply, plus $5 per dog that includes a custom Fernwood bandana.
