Misogyny a core tenet of Trump campaign

Misogyny is defined as entrenched prejudices against, contempt for, and (at times) hatred of women or girls. It is the basis for the oppression of females in male-dominated societies.

Misogyny is manifested in many ways, from jokes, to violence, to pornography, to the self-contempt women are taught to feel toward their own bodies. The internalized impacts of misogyny on young girls and women may be reflected in issues with body image, disordered eating, and obsessive dieting and exercise.

Is misogyny a core attitude of Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for president of the U.S.?

I believe it is — I maintain that he holds this attitude with sincerity, and practices it with fervor. He has a well-documented history of discriminatory and offensive comments toward women and his misogynistic activity is not abating as the campaign proceeds.

Every woman is someone’s sister, mother, daughter, or wife. Putting Donald Trump into the White House would be a disaster for the women of this country, and for the men who care about them.

Consider what effect a Trump presidency could have on young girls and boys in our country.

Please keep this in mind when you cast your vote on Nov. 8.
