Niles tennis splits season-opening doubleheader

The Niles tennis team opened its season with a SMAC doubleheader Monday.

The Vikings defeated Battle Creek Central 8-0, but lost to Battle Creek Lakeview 7-1.

The Bearcats forfeited at No. 4 singles and doubles.

The Vikings’ No. 1 doubles team of Chad Barton and Ben Lovett were winners in both matches Monday.

Brandywine tennis

Brandywine opened its season on the road against Galesburg-Augusta.

The Bobcats settled for a 4-4 draw.

Brandywine split in both the singles and doubles flights. The Bobcats also had to forfeit at No. 4 singles.
