SOUTH HAVEN — The Dowagiac golf team finished fifth and tied for sixth in the opening Wolverine Conference jamboree doubleheaders Monday.

The league opened the season at HawksHead in South Haven with Sturgis winning with a score of 201.

Dowagiac was sixth with a team score of 228.
Following the South Haven jamboree, the league moved to Cheshire Hills in Allegan for the afternoon jamboree.

Sturgis was also the winner with a team total of 193. Dowagiac tied with Otsego, but finished sixth based on the fifth-player tiebreaker.

Maddie Tran of Plainwell was the medalist for both events. She shot 44 at HawksHead and 39 at Cheshire Hills.

Dowagiac was led by Rebecca Franklin who shot 50 in the morning and 51 in the afternoon.
