Gary Greib and Laurissa Dalrymple were the top male and female finishers respectively in the 2016 Eagle Lake Triathlon Saturday.

Greib edged Bosch with a total time of 1:39:38 compared to 1:40:01.

Bosch swam the 800-yard course in 21:19, while Greib came out of the water with a time of 21:50.

Greib was also a tick slower in the transition area, but covered the 17.2-mile bike course in 43:44, while Bosch finished with a time of 43:52.

Bosch was again faster in the transition area, but he was already behind and would not catch up on the 5.3-mile run.

Greib finished with a time of 32:42 and Bosch 33:37.

Dalrymple had no competition in the women’s division as she finished nearly 14 minutes better than runner-up Heather Schuh of Edwardsburg.

Dalrymple covered the swim in 18:36, the bike ride in 49:25 and the run in 34:35.

Amanda Ferris of Granger was the winner of the short sprint for females with a time of 40:56. Emily Fruehwirth of South Bend was second with a 42:28.

The short sprint consisted of a 200-yard swim, a 6.9-mile bike ride and a 1.4-mile run.

Ferris was more than a minute behind coming out of the water and was 12 minutes slower in the transition area.

She made up the time by finishing ahead of Fruehwirth on the ride (21:22-22:43) and the run (9:52-11:12).

Chris Fruehwirth of South Bend was the men’s short sprint winner with a time of 35:24.

Runner-up Andrew Oberlie of Mishawaka finished with a 36:00.

Oberlie was faster in the swim, but lost time in the transition area, the bike ride and the run.

Trevino covered the 25-yard swim, .75-mile bike ride and half-mile run in 6:04, while VanderMolen finished with a time of 8:53.
