Dowagiac 10U All-Stars third at Niles-Brandywine tourney

The Dowagiac 10U All-Stars were the non-travel team to compete in the Niles-Brandywine Softball Tournament at Fireman’s Park.
Dowagiac finished third place despite having to forfeit a game due to heat exhaustion suffered by three girls Saturday.
The all-stars rallied Sunday, despite being short two players and won back-to-back games to earn the third place finish.
On Friday, Dowagiac defeated S.W.A.T. 11-4 with Triana Lee earning the Most Valuable Player honors; and defeated the Harris Heat 11-2 with Caleigh Wimberley being named MVP.
In Saturday’s action, the all-stars forfeited to the Harris Heat Sparks. Wimberely was again named MVP.
On Sunday, Dowagiac defeated the Harris Heat 8-4 with Jessa Davis being named MVP and defeated Niles-Brandywine Inferno 14-11 on the International Tiebreaker. McCallie Ward was the team’s MVP.
Dowagiac was defeated by Michiana Mayhem 6-2. Alivia Ausra was named the MVP.
The team also competed in the Hartford All-Star Tournament and the Berrien Springs All-Star Tournament, finishing second in both events.
