The Howard Township 8U All-Stars defeated Alpena 12-0 to win the Cal Ripken Michigan State Tournament championship at Pepper Martin Park July 10.

Howard Township went 6-0, defeating Alpena, Brandywine Gold, Brandywine Maroon and Macomb.

The all-stars outscored its opponents 90-8 en route to the championships. Brody Schimpa had a home run during the tournament.

Howard Township will now travel to Lexington, Kentucky to play in the Ohio Valley Regional beginning July 27.
