Niles All-Stars win district championship

- Corbin Eckenberger picked up the victory for Niles. According to coach Bill Mangold, everyone contributed to the victory. The team consists of Jerod Glenn, Nate Pierce, Jakob Weist, Carcile Cross, Alex Wickizer, Kyle Webster, Damian Downham, Devin Plew, Austin Platz, Caleb Ringer, Carter Scoggin and Corbin Eckenberger. The Niles Senior League All-Stars captured the Michigan District 15 championship Thursday night with an 11-1 win over Edwardsburg.
The all-stars swept Edwardsburg 2-0 to advance to Wednesday’s sectional at South Portage, which is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
